If that dream Amalfi holiday is not on the horizon, don’t stress. Your favourite East End bars are putting an Italian spin on knock-off drinks. Choose your own wine adventure with Mothervine’s extensive wine list. Bonus: the first glass comes with free olives or nuts! Relive the joys of summer with an Aperol or Pampelle Spritz at The William Bligh, paired with a little grilled chorizo and Italian balsamic glaze. At East End Cellars a “Negroni Sbagliato” is the drink of choice served with Gilda Pintxos skewers. New kid on the block, Hellbound Wine Bar, puts an Aussie spin on their aperitivo selection with an Applewood Okar Amaro Spritz accompanied with spiced almonds. Choose from a Chaffey Bros, Pax Aeterna Old Vine Grenache, Prancing Pony Black ale or Mismatch Lager at Brklyn where they will also be dishing up mozzarella sticks and fried Brooklyn picks as an ode to their New York inspo. Gin conoisseurs, The Howling Owl, are blending Settlers’ Old Tom gin with a lemon myrtle infused syrup, strawberry gum, thyme and fresh strawberries accompanied by Settler’s infused gin cheddar cheese, local prosciutto and Beerenberg fig jam.
Whether it’s a pit stop, or a night-long affair, pop in for a great pour. Choose one venue or try them all. Download our map here for all the details or pick one up at your first stop.
