Rundle Illuminations
As part of the much-loved City Lights program during Illuminate Adelaide 2026, Rundle Illuminations transforms Adelaide’s iconic East End into a glowing playground of creativity, curiosity, and wonder.
Scattered throughout Rundle Street and surrounding laneways, Rundle Illuminations displays a collection of large-scale interactive installations, roving performances, snow machines, and glowing light works. This year’s headline installation is Optik by The Urban Conga, presented by Creos. Get ready to manipulate the movement and reflection of light, where each unit becomes a different musical instrument. This work invites you to engage with those around you and create sparkling interactions!
The installations are free to explore every night from 1 to 19 July, with building uplighting by light designer Chris Petridis setting the scene each evening.
On weekends, the East End comes alive as the whole precinct transforms from 5:30pm. Rundle Street opens up to pedestrians, East End restaurants spill their dining onto the road, and fire pits warm the atmosphere as special roving performances weave through the crowds. It’s the perfect setting to linger longer, dine under the stars, and soak in the full magic of City Lights.
City Lights invites locals and visitors alike to explore Adelaide after dark, as the city comes alive with free, family-friendly experiences across the CBD. Whether you’re seeking inspiration, play, or a fresh perspective, Rundle Illuminations promises a night to remember.
Step into the light and let the city surprise you.
