The first in a series of events celebrating the influential cuisine of Spain, Portugal and their neighbours; Iberia presents an evening of stories spread over 5 courses + 5 wines you’ll be hard pressed to try anywhere else!
Our host will be Scott Wasley; a raconteur and specialist Spanish and Portugese booze importer who knows his way around the Iberian wine region. Scott is returning to Adelaide to guide guests through a *one night only* five course dinner with carefully selected matched wines from his Iberian arsenal.
Accompanying Scott’s exclusive juices is a menu consisting of veg, meat and seafood from sustainable, local suppliers. Iberia’s head chef Andrew Douglas fell in love with Spanish cuisine whilst in the employ of Frank Camorra (Movida, Melbourne). Andrew’s style is focused on quality ingredients, good technique, served unfussed.
Locals may remember Scott from his days at Universal Wine Bar; a few doors down from where Iberia now stands. Scott threw in the brick and mortar towel to taste his way through his favourite region; the Iberian peninsula encompassing Spain and Portugal.
Now trading as The Spanish Acquisition, Scott brings back the liveliest wines he finds on his travels, which he supplies to restaurants all over Australia, Iberia included.
All wines are shipped in temperature-controlled containers at 13 degrees Celsius, meaning that the best wines of Spain+Portugal arrive in perfect condition, every time. Less than 5% of wine imported into Australia is afforded this respect!
